Employee Spotlight: Michelle Telian

Without its team of world-class technologists, the Cybba office is just another trendy, converted warehouse with exposed brick. Cybba builds teams of innovative, analytical, and tenacious tech professionals to breathe life into every aspect of the company’s operations. Each individual elevates Cybba’s services from simply digital to truly transformational.

This month we're getting the scoop on Michelle Telian, a newly minted Senior Manager of Client Services. In her previous role as Account Manager, Michelle gained a reputation for being a problem solving mastermind and all-around delight to work with. Read on to learn how she consistently impresses Cybba's clients and her teammates alike!

How long have you been in this position?

By the time this comes out, it’ll be just over a month! But I’ve been with Cybba for about 2 and a half years.

What drew you to Cybba/ how did you get here?

I was drawn to the start-up culture and the idea of being on the product/vendor side of things after having worked at other advertising agencies. It was really the people I met while I was interviewing that sealed the deal.

What tips would you give an Account Manager entering the industry?

Be prepared for change. In our industry, things are constantly evolving and it’s important to stay up to date to stay relevant. It requires a personal time investment to be constantly learning.

What do you enjoy the most about your role?

I love that my role is always evolving. We’re constantly building out our products and services to provide more to our clients. It’s also great to have ownership over the elements of your jobs that you are really interested in.

What is something that most people don’t know about you?

I am super outdoorsy. I grew up backpacking in New Hampshire and on the weekends, you can usually find me skiing down or hiking up a mountain– depending on the season.

What brands or companies do you admire?

I absolutely love Patagonia. I love everything they stand for, the work they do to support their supply chain, and that they make products that literally last a lifetime.

What is your favorite place in Boston?

I’m a Southie girl and love walking around the beach and Castle Island. It’s even better if you can stop at Sully’s for a lobster roll!

What are you currently binge-watching?

Sherlock on Netflix!!! I don’t know how I’m so behind on this series, but it’s such a good mix of drama and British humor. 10/10 would recommend.

How has Cybba helped in your career development?

Earning the opportunity to lead and manage our biggest partnerships has been the most impactful in my career development here at Cybba. It’s given me the chance to take ownership, build relationships, refine my sales skills, and research/drive new revenue sources for us.

What do you find to be most challenging about working at Cybba?

Since we are still so small, things can change quickly here. It’s important to refocus after any shifts in direction.

What has been your proudest moment at Cybba?

Being promoted to a team lead/senior manager with two direct reports. It’s definitely different than being an individual contributor, but I’m excited to take on the challenge and continue to help my team grow and succeed.

If you could switch your job with anyone else within Cybba, whose job would you want?

Hmm! I think it’d be the design team. I don’t have a creative bone in my body so I’m always impressed when they can bring an idea to life.
