Employee Spotlight: Luis Emilio García Wiedemann

Cybba’s Mexico office opened only 6 months ago, but their team is already making an impact on the digital marketing scene there. Luis Emilio García Wiedemann shines as an Account Manager in Mexico, taking great care of his clients and building friendships with his colleagues across the continent!

How long have you been in this position?

6 months on July 10th! Since we have been locked down in our homes because of COVID-19, it feels like it has been only 2 months. I’m impressed that it has been 6 months because it feels like I’m still learning new things every single day

What job did you want to have you were a kid?

I always wanted to be a musician. I absolutely love music and I’m a huge fan of everything related to music. I would love to be a singer!

Describe the path that brought you to Cybba.

I was working for an digital marketing agency while I was in University and wanted to continue to work in digital marketing after graduation. When I was presented with the opportunity to join Cybba, I immediately took it! I’m very happy to be part of this company.

What do you enjoy the most about your role?

I love the fact that I can speak with clients from Mexico to follow up on their campaigns, and also stay in touch with the team in Boston. I love being part of both teams and communicating with everyone!

Run us through a typical day in the Cybba office for you.

My day is spent setting campaigns live, having calls with clients, and getting them better results than they expect! I also speak with the Mexico team daily to see how we can work together to improve our campaigns.

What is your best productivity tip for getting it all done?

I think the best productivity tip would be to communicate with your team to make sure everyone is always on the same page. You can’t be truly productive if you don’t know what your teammates are working on.

What are your favorite brand(s) and why?

My favorite brand is Apple by far. I like their products, the ecosystem that they’ve created, and I think their campaigns are awesome! Everyone loves Apple!

What’s the best (non-Cybba) marketing campaign you’ve seen?

I loved the Coca-Cola campaign called “Estamos más cerca de lo que creemos” (We’re closer than we think). This campaign sends the message to Mexican families that we are closer than ever through these difficult times in our country. It reminds us to love each other no matter what!

What is your favorite place in Mexico City?

My favorite place is Coyoacán. There are so many things to enjoy, such as food, bars, pottery markets, museums, and so much more! I’m a huge fan of Frida Kahlo’s paintings and guess what? Her museum is in Coyoacán! The museum, Casa Azul, is the house she lived in when she was younger.

What are 3 things you can’t live without?

This is an easy one. They would be music- first of all- books, and coffee! I play music from the very first moment my day begins. I love to start my day with a cup of coffee and finish my day by enjoying a good book!

What has been your proudest moment/ favorite project at Cybba?

When I saw my first onsite campaign go live! I was nervous because I wanted it to be perfect and it was. I was so proud and thankful for all of the team’s help.

If you weren’t working in digital marketing, what would you be doing?

I would want to work in the entertainment industry creating music, video games, or movies.

If you could switch your job with anyone at Cybba, whose job would you want?

I would definitely switch with someone on the Tech team. I love how they work with code and I would really love to do whatever they’re doing behind the curtains!
