Without its team of world-class technologists, the Cybba office is just another trendy, converted warehouse with exposed brick. Cybba builds teams of innovative, analytical, and tenacious tech professionals to breathe life into every aspect of the company’s operations. Each individual elevates Cybba’s services from simply digital to truly transformational.
Today we are spotlighting the Cybba employee responsible for handpicking our colleagues, Casee Laznick. As our People Operations Manager, Casee acts as the eyes and ears of Cybba. She works tirelessly to find candidates who are just the right fit for the team and have that special Cybba je ne sais quoi!
How long have you been in this position?
I’ve been at Cybba for almost 4 years!
How did you start at Cybba and what made you want to join?
I was a marketing major in college (Go UMass!) and wanted to get into the tech industry. When I saw the job opening for the Cybba’s first in-house recruiter, I knew it would be perfect for me.
What tips would you give someone in recruiting and HR entering the industry?
I would make sure to absorb anything and everything you can about your industry! It’s good to be knowledgeable for the candidates you interview, whether they are industry vets or people coming right out of school.
What do you enjoy the most about your role?
There is no better feeling than getting someone a job doing what they love!
What is something that most people don’t know about you?
I was named after a Grateful Dead song: Casey Jones (different spelling though!).
[You better watch your speed! Now, back to business...] What brands/companies do you admire?
I’m a big fan of Chewy. The company is great but their customer service is one of the best I’ve ever experienced. You can tell that they truly love what they do!
What is your favorite place in Boston?
My favorite place in Boston is the North End. I’ve lived there for almost 8 years and it has always felt like home. I’m a huge foodie so I love having access to all the amazing restaurants in the area. The culture is just still so prominent there- It’s really unlike any other area of Boston!
What are you currently binge-watching?
Lost. I didn’t watch it when it aired, but I am loving it so far! We also just finished It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia again, which is one of my all-time faves.
How has Cybba helped in your career development?
Being at Cybba has really helped me develop professionally. I started as the company’s first recruiter and was able to establish recruiting and hiring processes for Cybba that brought amazing people to the team. I have also taken on more responsibility with developing company culture and HR practices, which I really enjoy.
What do you find the most challenging at Cybba?
Being part of such a fast-evolving industry can be challenging. Things are changing constantly, but I enjoy it. It’s exciting to continue innovating to keep up with the market.
What is your proudest moment at Cybba?
It’s hard to pick just one. I am so happy every time one of my hires does something great. I feel like a proud mom!
If you could switch your job with anyone else within Cybba, whose job would you want?
I would switch with the graphic designers. They do amazing work and I’d love to be able to create the things they do. I think they are one of the reasons our company stands out from others in our industry.
