Employee Spotlight: Julia Crawford

We are spotlighting Julia Crawford, a dazzling Account Manager and client whisperer.  Read on to learn about the personal touch she brings to each of her accounts and the Cybba family.  

How long have you been in this position?

I have been an Account Manager for just over a year!

How did you start at Cybba and what made you want to join?

I worked for one of Cybba’s largest technology e-commerce clients and worked directly with one of our ROCKSTAR account managers.  I applied to become an Account Manager myself after experiencing Cybba’s enthusiasm for what they do and overall industry expertise. I knew I wanted to join after I met the rest of the Account Management team and everyone was so enthusiastic about their clients and the value they were adding on a daily basis!

What tips would you give an Account Manager entering the industry? 

I think the most important skill to be a successful Account Manager would be the ability to really listen to your clients. The more you get to know your client’s needs, wishes, and goals, the better you will be able to recommend strategies to help grow their campaigns and surpass their expectations.

What do you enjoy the most about your job? 

I love that as an Account Manager you are able to form real relationships with your clients and always be sure you are providing the most value to them based on their needs.

What is something that most people don’t know about you?

I was a competitive Irish Step dancer for 15 years BUT I am not Irish at all. Slàinte!

What brands or companies do you admire? 

I love brands that incorporate humor into their overall image and marketing strategy. Dollar Shave Club has mastered the art of using humor to reach their target audience and encourage customer loyalty.

What is your favorite place in Boston? 

All of Boston is WICKED awesome, but currently my favorite place is Bleacher Bar! It is a small bar located under the bleachers of Fenway Park and is a great place to get a drink before or after a Red Sox game since it looks out onto the field.

What are you currently binge-watching?

I am currently binge-watching New Girl for about the 10th time…it never gets old!

How has Cybba helped in your career development?

Cybba has exposed me to so many different digital advertising tools and industries.  In the short time I’ve been here, I’ve had the opportunity to figure out what industries I find most interesting and manage clients in those respective spaces.  I’ve also been able to learn more about the digital strategies I find most challenging.

What do you find the most challenging about your work at Cybba? 

The digital space is constantly changing so it is definitely challenging to stay up to date on industry trends. However, this also makes it a very exiting space to work in and pushes me to always learn something new.

What is your proudest moment at Cybba

My proudest moment at Cybba was when I was a speaker on our webinar “Going Digital with Crain Communications.” Over the period that I have managed the Crain partnership, we have been able to grow and expand our campaigns across almost all of our tools, so it was great to see everything come together and be showcased in a webinar!

If you could switch your job with anyone else’s at Cybba, what job would you want? 

I would love to be a media trader! They know so much about the ins and outs of all of our ads campaigns and I find it so fascinating how they are able to optimize performance through specific strategies.
